Betting Tips: Early Market Movers at Caulfield & Randwick 7/2/26

New Sensation in town

There have been a number of significant early betting moves this week, with sharp money providing clear leads at both major venues.
At Caulfield, the big-betting Clinton McDonald yard appear to have engineered a classic set-up after a “dead run” last start, ensuring they secured the right price this time around.
Meanwhile at Randwick, the high motivation surrounding Godolphin-owned runners is again in play, with the Michael Freedman stable looking keen to capitalise.

Suntoro
The Nick Ryan stable are building nicely again after a relatively quiet period by their standards, and this mare is clearly one of their flagship Autumn prospects.
She brained them here last start over the same 2000m trip, winning by more than four lengths.
Now rock-hard fit, she has plenty of options from gate 1, either settling closer in running or applying pressure much earlier.
A luxury position to be in.
Streisand
The Clinton McDonald yard are lethal when they back one, and this looks a classic example.
The drift last start ($4 out to $5) told the story, and she was ridden accordingly, getting well back and simply having a look around over the 1000m.
Now it’s go time.
With money on and a more positive ride expected, she shapes as the big improver.
Planet Red
Put away for 17 weeks following his last preparation, and the decision to bring him back now suggests Autumn targets are firmly on the radar.
He did more than enough last prep, winning once and placing twice from four starts, with his close second to Autumn Boy in the Caulfield Guineas providing strong form.
Appears to have genuine quality and could be an emerging Autumn star.
Zou Sensation
A mad leader who can sustain a brutal tempo and still kick strongly late.
He proved that again last start at Flemington. No easy task given the long straight and time rivals have to run you down.
This is deeper and he may face more pressure, but he’s rock-hard fit and better equipped than most to absorb it.

Unleeshing
Was excellent mid-week on the Kensington track, coming from well back to storm home with plenty in reserve.
While that was a lower-grade race, she showed enough to suggest she’s well above average.
Looks capable of working through the grades quickly and should be winning again on her way toward Autumn Stakes targets.
Monte Veebee
The stable holds a strong opinion of this galloper. He's not a Group star, but ultra-reliable in his grade and placed to perfection again.
He was excellent first-up at Newcastle, leading and running away from them late, and likely still had room to improve.
Fitter second-up and with Jason Collett taking over, he looks primed for another bold showing.
Cinsault
We’ve been keen on the Godolphin runners since the end of the James Cummings era, largely due to the heightened motivation now at play.
Every trainer is eager to secure more Godolphin stock, and Michael Freedman is no exception.
Expect this mare to be fully screwed down to deliver for the powerful ownership group.
Nervous Business
Team Hayes don’t travel to Sydney without reason, and they’ll be well aware they’re on show here.
With motivation high, expect this horse to be flying at home and fully wound up for the first-up assignment.
The booking of James McDonald is a massive tick and his camp won’t commit unless the confidence is there.
Looks very hard to beat.
