Early betting markets have again produced some significant moves this week, with sharp money identifying a number of runners at both major venues.

At Caulfield, the Lindsay Smith stable appears ready to strike with a lightly raced filly that has attracted one of the strongest opening moves of the week, while an emerging staying star continues to command respect.

Meanwhile at Randwick, the in-form Annabel and Rob Archibald stable have multiple runners attracting strong support, suggesting they could be in for another big afternoon.

As always, any further market push close to start time would add extreme confidence.

Caulfield Tips

Markdel

Had genuine excuses last start after settling too far back in a race that developed into a tactical affair, leaving little opportunity for backmarkers to make ground.

With another run under the belt, expect a much more positive ride despite the wide draw, as the stable looks to have him closer to the speed throughout.

If they can find cover midfield, he looks capable of producing a sharp improvement.

Celtics

The Price/Kent operation rarely miss when they decide to support one in the market and there appears to be good confidence around this gelding.

He was heavily backed at Sale last start before running a sound race despite not having everything go his way, suggesting the stable opinion remains high.

With Rosemont Stud in the ownership, there is every incentive for another bold performance.

Decalogue

One of the most exciting emerging stayers in Victoria who continues to rise through the grades with dominant victories at his past three starts.

He looked destined for Flemington before missing that assignment, and remaining at 2000 metres here may actually prove the perfect stepping stone as his fitness continues to build.

He still looks well ahead of his rating and appears capable of developing into a genuine Group-class stayer.

First Chorus

Lindsay Smith has made no secret of the opinion he holds of this filly and the market certainly agrees.

Her opening quote of $4 was immediately slashed into $3.10, the type of move that generally requires either respected money or a sizeable wager to shift the market so aggressively.

That early confidence is difficult to ignore and another late push would only strengthen her claims.

Randwick Tips

Sacrify

Returned to winning form last start after finally receiving the right race shape and a trouble-free run.

Barrier one gives the stable plenty of tactical options, whether pressing forward to control the race or taking the ideal trail just behind the speed.

Both scenarios look ideal and he shapes as one of the runners to beat again.

Zouripper*

Now into his third run since joining the Joe Pride stable after transferring from John Thompson, and the market suggests the stable has him nearing peak fitness.

Joe Pride is renowned for improving horses after stable changes and this profile fits perfectly.

Watch the late betting closely because when the stable support one, it often proves significant.

Please note this market move has been affected by scratchings.

Luskaire

The Archibald stable continue to enjoy a purple patch and this gelding was desperately unlucky not to win at Rosehill last start after encountering interference at crucial stages.

Despite the setbacks he still charged home into second and arguably should have finished one spot higher.

Molly Fitzgerald's claim sees him carry just 51.5kg, giving him a significant advantage in the weights.

Emirate

Could hardly be going any better, having won his past two starts in impressive fashion.

His latest victory was particularly strong after circling the field from well back before producing a sustained finishing burst to score despite traffic issues.

If he enjoys even average luck in running this time, he looks capable of extending his winning sequence.
