We have all the early betting action covered this week, with the key moves highlighted below in what provides an excellent showcase and market guide for punters.

At Flemington, a last-start Country Cups winner can only improve off that first-up performance…and the stable have found Craig Williams to ride!

Whilst at Rosehill, Richard and Will Freedman have one engaged that they reportedly hold a huge opinion of as potentially the best horse in their yard.

Flemington Tips

Lara Antipova

The Mark Walker stable are starting to fight back following a very lean run by their lofty standards, and the booking of Mark Zahra here suggests this mare is ready to fire.

She was badly held up first-up at Caulfield over 1100m and had genuine excuses, giving us every reason to believe there was plenty more under the bonnet.

The sharp rise to 1400m looks ideal and the spacious Flemington circuit should give Zahra plenty of clean air to wind her up. Given even luck, expect her to be charging home late.

Paradoxium

Star two-year-old who resumes here after winning the Todman Stakes last preparation and has since been secured by powerhouse breeding operation Yulong.

That brings a completely different level of expectation. As a colt, his future stallion value is potentially enormous and every Stakes performance from here can add significantly to his profile.

Bjorn Baker and his team will be under no illusions about the importance of having him return in good order, and two recent trials suggest they have put plenty of work into him.

Watch betting very late. If another wave of money arrives, expect him to be ready to win first-up.

Think Giant

Genuine stayer who is finally getting out to the distances he has been looking for and may eventually prove even better beyond the 2500m.

He still appeared a touch fresh over 2400m last start, suggesting there should be another significant fitness improvement to come from that performance.

This has all the hallmarks of a target race with bigger Spring ambitions in mind. With valuable qualification opportunities on the line, expect him to be cherry ripe.

Just Party

Produced an excellent first-up performance to win the Goulburn Cup, charging through along the inside to defeat a quality field for that level.

The key is that the victory came first-up. He should take plenty of natural improvement from that run and now arrives at Flemington with a strong fitness platform underneath him.

The booking of Craig Williams screams yes! It suggests the stable believes the horse has trained on beautifully and is ready to take another step forward in stronger company.

Rosehill Tips

Mukhtalif

Trainers have plenty of motivation to deliver results for a large ownership operation like MyRacehorse, which fits perfectly with our trainer/owner motivational theory.

He switches from Ciaron Maher’s Melbourne operation after a complete forgive run at Sandown last start, finishing midfield after encountering traffic issues at crucial stages.

The change of environment could spark him up and you can expect plenty of attention has gone into finding the right race for his Sydney debut.

He profiles as the big improver and should be right in the finish.

Scripted

The Nash Rawiller booking for Matt Dunn immediately catches the eye and suggests the stable is very serious about this assignment.

She went desperately close here last start after firming from $4.40 into $3.60 late, so the stable clearly had her ready to perform on that occasion.

Now rock-hard fit third-up, I love the fact they stick at the same 1500m trip. With Rawiller aboard, expect an even more positive ride and for her to be right there when the pressure goes on.

Genisis Runner

Richard and Will Freedman reportedly hold an enormous opinion of this colt, and comments suggesting he is one of the best horses in their yard carry plenty of weight as their Rosehill operation continues to build.

He was thrown straight into Group 3 company in the Up And Coming Stakes last start and certainly didn't shirk the task, holding second behind the talented Plagiarism.

That experience should bring him right on and he now has another layer of fitness underneath him.

With powerful Yulong involved in the ownership, the motivational alignment is enormous. The Freedmans will be desperate to deliver for such an influential operation and you can expect this colt to be humming. Yes.

Lazurra

Appears to have attracted one of the biggest early moves anywhere in the country this week, with the opening price absolutely truck-loaded!

That sort of move suggests the stable has her flying behind closed doors, while the James McDonald booking adds another huge tick given the options normally available to him on a Saturday.

She is particularly effective fresh, boasting an excellent first-up record of 5:2-1-1, and you would expect the stable to play directly to that strength.

There may be bigger Spring targets ahead, but the market suggests she is forward enough to be winning right now.
