Race 10 – #12 You’re Two Vain

You’re Two Vain is better than his first-up run suggests and looks set to bounce back.

He made a complete mess of the start on resumption, which put him on the back foot early and made the task near impossible from that point.

Despite that, he still worked through the line well enough to indicate he has come back in good order.

He is generally a reliable beginner, so with a cleaner getaway here, he should be able to settle much closer in the run and give himself every chance.

If he jumps cleanly and holds a position, he looks right in this and has the ability to be finishing strongly late.

Race 5 – #2 Merrigold

Merrigold looks ideally placed to go one better.

He is well weighted under the conditions and brings a solid last-start effort into this, where he hit the line strongly despite not having the best of luck in running.

That run suggests he is close to a peak performance, and with a smoother passage this time around, he should be able to settle in a more favourable position and build into the race at the right time.

With even luck, he looks well placed to be right in the finish again.
