Brad Davidson – Canterbury Wednesday Best Bets 5/8/26

Race 2 – #7 Glissando

Glissando has done plenty right in his first two starts this preparation and looks ready to break through.

His recent runs have been full of merit, suggesting the rise in distance is exactly what he's been looking for. The booking of James McDonald is another significant positive and only strengthens his claims.

Everything points towards another improved performance and Davidson rates him the horse to beat.

Saver – #5 Viva Mauricio

Viva Mauricio is worth saving on after racing in conditions that didn't suit last time.

The return to a dry track is a major positive and there's every chance he can improve sharply under more suitable conditions.

Race 1 – #8 Queen's Gamble

Queen's Gamble caught the eye with a strong first-up performance, finding the line impressively after settling back in the field.

She now draws a much kinder barrier, giving her the opportunity to settle closer to the speed and conserve plenty for the finish.

With natural improvement second-up and a race shape likely to suit, Davidson expects her to be right in the finish.
