Brad Davidson heads to Caulfield expecting rain-affected conditions to again play a significant role, with the softer surface likely to favour horses suited by give in the ground and those capable of building momentum away from the rail.

He has identified two runners that look well placed by both conditions and race setup, including a mare resuming off strong trial performances and another who looks suited returning to more favourable circumstances.

Brad Davidson – Caulfield Saturday Tips 30/5/26

Race 9 – #5 Perspiration

Perspiration appeals as one of the stronger value plays on the card.

The lightly raced four-year-old has continued building a solid profile and returns here off two encouraging trial performances suggesting she is ready to fire fresh.

This looks like a race the stable may have specifically targeted and there are several factors working in her favour.

The claim reduces the weight burden, softer conditions are expected to suit and her overall profile suggests there is still improvement to come.

If she runs up to her trial form, she looks capable of making a winning return.

Race 4 – #1 First Chorus

First Chorus looks set to improve sharply.

Her latest run at Flemington didn’t quite suit when forced to race prominently on firmer ground over 1800m and she never looked entirely comfortable under those conditions.

This setup appears much more suitable.

She drops back to 1600m, gets Jamie Mott aboard and should appreciate getting back onto softer ground.

From the draw she maps to get a much kinder run and with several boxes now ticked, Davidson expects a much stronger showing.
