Brad Davidson – Doomben Wednesday Best Bets 22/7/26

Race 2 – #7 Moscow Mule

Moscow Mule couldn't have done much more on debut despite enduring a tough run throughout.

Caught three-wide for the entire journey, he still hit the line strongly in a race that wasn't run to suit his racing pattern, suggesting there's plenty of upside.

He's since trialled impressively around Doomben and, from a much kinder barrier, should be able to settle significantly closer to the speed.

With the benefit of race experience and a far better map, Davidson expects him to take plenty of beating.

Race 5 – #8 Flaxlands

Flaxlands made an eye-catching return when storming home from the back to finish third at Ipswich.

Her closing sectionals were among the best of the meeting and indicated she's returned in excellent order.

The rise to 1350 metres looks ideal based on the way she attacked the line first-up, and with natural improvement expected second-up, Davidson believes she's perfectly placed to break through.
