Race 2 – #9 Rough Cause $2.60

Rough Cause profiles as a horse ready to run a big race.

His recent Gold Coast trial was full of merit where he held his own against smart galloper Voodoo Lass, who has since gone on to win twice at Saturday level.

Importantly, the trial was run in good time and suggested he has returned in strong order for this assignment.

The map also looks favourable.

From the soft draw he should be able to land near the speed without doing too much work and that is often a major advantage around Doomben.

In what doesn’t appear the strongest race on paper, Davidson believes Rough Cause gets his opportunity to break through.
