Brad Davidson – Eagle Farm Midweek Best Bets 8/4/26

R1 No.7 Desanto (rated $1.85, confidence med-low)

Narrowly beaten first-up when forced to work throughout the run, doing plenty of early work before still finding the line well.

That effort suggests there is good improvement to come with race fitness now on his side.

He draws to secure a much more economical run in transit here, which should allow him to settle into a better rhythm and conserve energy for the finish.

With even luck and a softer run, he looks very hard to beat in this field.

R4 No.9 Don’t Doubt Missy (rated $3.00, confidence med-low)

Got too far out of her ground at the Sunshine Coast last start, which made it difficult to make up the required ground late.

That run is better than it reads on paper, and she now gets the perfect opportunity to bounce back.

From barrier 1 she should settle much closer to the speed, which is a big advantage around Eagle Farm, particularly in races where tempo can be controlled.

With a more favourable run in transit and natural improvement, she shapes as a strong winning chance.
