Barrengarry is short enough in the market, but his first-up performance was excellent.

He was forced to sit wide throughout yet was still able to overcome the tough run and put his opposition away.

He's building an impressive record and looks like a horse capable of progressing beyond this grade as the preparation unfolds.

Davidson rates him at $2.20 with medium-low confidence.

Best Value – Race 1 #14 Puffin $8.00

Puffin has absolutely smashed the clock in back-to-back victories at Gunnedah and Dubbo.

The outside draw is the obvious query, but the tactics should be straightforward. If they put the handlebars down early and allow her to use her speed, she can cross and race right on the pace.

If Puffin gets to the front without doing too much work, she'll be very hard to catch.
