Autumn Glow extended her unbeaten streak to nine straight wins and continues to stamp herself as one of the most exciting mares in training.

She has shown versatility, tactical speed, and the ability to stretch to a mile, perhaps further in time.

Tentyris was equally impressive, settling at the rear in the 1000m sprint before exploding past his rivals late.

He looked to have them covered a long way out.

If an overseas sprint campaign is ever on the agenda, he profiles as a horse capable of mixing it at the highest level.

Caulfield

Caulfield takes centre stage this Saturday with three Group 1 contests:

• Blue Diamond Stakes (2YOs)

• Oakleigh Plate

• Futurity Stakes

All three are deep, competitive fields with value scattered across the program.

A key storyline is the return of Treasurethemoment in the Futurity Stakes.

The four-year-old mare for Matt Laurie, ridden by Damian Lane, is currently favourite around $2.10.

She has won 10 of 16 career starts over this distance and further and profiles as one of the most intriguing runners of the day.

 

Rosehill – Depth Across the Card

Rosehill matches the quality with three Group 2 races and a Group 3 event.

The Silver Slipper (Group 2) will have major Golden Slipper implications.

Flashy grey Hidrix was outstanding last start at double-figure odds and now steps up again with clear upside. He looked to have something in reserve on the line and shapes as a genuine Slipper contender.

Across both venues, there are opportunities for punters prepared to look beyond the obvious.

Should position handy to the speed and is capable of figuring in the finish if he reproduces his best ratings.

 

Race 4

No.1 Arcora ($17)

Displayed genuine staying ability in the spring.

First-up last run he was three-wide throughout and forced even wider on the turn, looking dour at 1400m.

Up to 1800m suits, and if he can slot in despite the draw, he represents strong value.

 

Race 6 – Dual Win Play

No.5 Damask Rose ($3.80)

Solid first-up performance. A repeat effort makes her extremely competitive.

Worth following up.

 

No.1 Benagil ($10)

May surprise fresh at double figures.

Likely to improve as preparation deepens but has the ratings to measure up immediately.

 

ROSEHILL

Race 6

No.2 Hidrix ($4.80)

Hard to jump off after his last-start win where he looked to have plenty in reserve.

Progressive type heading toward the Golden Slipper.

 

Race 7

No.14 Piggyback ($6)

Barrier one should allow a soft run in transit.

Went back from a wide draw last start and closed nicely but was simply too far off them.

Fitter now and maps better.
