With strong cards at Flemington and Randwick, we also see Group 1 racing return to Morphettville in South Australia, headlined by the Robert Sangster Stakes over 1200m.

It is a race that has attracted a deep field with genuine winning chances throughout.

The Australasian Oaks over 2000m also shapes as a high-quality contest, with a full field engaged at the time of writing.

The meeting is further supported by two Group 2 races and three Group 3 events, making it one of the standout cards of the autumn.

Looking Back

Last weekend’s Group 1 racing at Randwick produced some strong performances.

The two-year-olds battled it out over the mile, with Fireball proving too strong late to defeat Campione D’Italia, while the Godolphin pair of Diameter and Zambales filled the minor placings.

 

 

In the All-Aged Stakes, Beiwacht, carrying the famous Godolphin colours and ridden by Nash Rawiller, led throughout from barrier to win convincingly ahead of Lazzura, Jimmysstar and Briasa.

 

 

Over in the west, The Quokka once again delivered. Jigsaw led throughout to claim victory for trainer Cindy Alderson and jockey Logan Bates, defeating Rey Magnerio, Talkanco and Spywire in another tight finish.

 

 

This Weekend

This weekend shapes as a meeting where value looks key.

There are several runners at odds that appeal, and the focus is on finding the right plays across multiple states in a true “around the grounds” approach, fitting for Anzac Day.
