Daniel Pryor Saturday Horse Racing Tips 4/4/26

Easter Saturday launches Day 1 of The Championships at Randwick Racecourse, and it shapes as one of the biggest days of the Autumn Carnival.

With four Group 1 races headlined by the Inglis Sires, Australian Derby, TJ Smith Stakes and Doncaster Mile, there is no shortage of elite racing on offer.

The program is further strengthened by deep support races including Group 2 and Group 3 contests along with the Country Championships Final.

Meanwhile at Caulfield Racecourse, a competitive card features the Easter Cup and Victoria Handicap, with plenty of value expected across the meeting.

There are still plenty of questions to be answered:

• Can a maiden break through in the Derby for the first time since 1949?

• Will Briasa defend his TJ Smith crown or can a runner like Giga Kick re-emerge?

• How does the wide draw affect Sheza Alibi in the Doncaster?

• Which two-year-old steps up in the Inglis Sires?

Expected to be strongest late and can kick the day off well.

 

Race 4 (Dual Win Play)

Likely to roll forward and control the race. First try at 2400m but should give a big sight.

 

N.o 5- Bluestone $4 (Dual Nomination Randwick Race 3)

Maps for a soft run on the fence. Just needs clear air and will be strong late.

 

Race 8 (4 Way Win Play)

N.o 7- Plymouth $7.50

N.o 5- Benagil $13

N.o 11- Suntora $13

N.o 1- Bankers Choice $18

All should get economical runs and with tempo expected, each profiles as a value chance.

 

Randwick

Race 4

N.o 1- Rivellino $5

Fitter for three runs back in stronger company.

Finds a suitable race here and despite the draw, can settle closer and be in the finish.

 

Race 7

N.o 3- Giga Kick $8

Draw gives him control over key rivals.

Can dictate terms and looks ready to peak at 1200m.

 

Race 10

N.o 10- Inkaruna $3

In top form despite two recent seconds. Looks ideally placed to break through here.

Blinkers on again and hard to beat.

 

Wrap

Last weekend delivered another strong return with 10 winners from 18 races, including multiple free tip winners and strong exotic results.

Confidence remains high heading into one of the biggest days of the carnival.
