Daniel Pryor Saturday Horse Racing Tips 6/6/26

The Group 1 action remains firmly in Queensland this Saturday with the running of the Queensland Oaks for the three-year-old fillies over 2200m, as Eagle Farm continues to take centre stage during the Winter Carnival.

Flemington and Randwick also host competitive winter programs where finding value looks very achievable if the races unfold as expected.

Last weekend’s feature racing delivered some cracking finishes, none more so than the Kingsford Smith Cup where Headley Grange grabbed Jimmysstar right on the line in a thrilling finish with runners spread right across the track.

The Queensland Derby belonged again to the powerful combination of Chris Waller and James McDonald, with Providence proving too strong from stablemate Monopolistic, while Inspired Legend filled third.

 

 

For the free tip followers it was another frustrating week with several runners finding second placing, including Belle Detelle who looked the winner at attractive odds before being grabbed late.

Unfortunately, second placings have been the story lately with 19 runners filling the runner-up position across the last two Saturdays.

FLEMINGTON

Race 3

No.1 – Flying Done ($4.50)

Returned with an excellent effort first-up when chasing home Concord Connie at odds and looked every bit a horse ready to win off that performance.

The run suggested improvement to come and this looks another suitable setup.

No.13 – Miss Revealing ($9)

Continues racing consistently and comes through some strong form references.

Her latest second placing had merit and she looks capable of improving again at a price.

 

Race 9

No.5 – Midtown Boss ($9)

Has done a good job considering he returned from a lengthy spell straight into strong company.

Forget the latest run where little went right.

The return to Flemington and a softer draw could easily see him bounce back.

 

RANDWICK

Race 7

No.3 – Point And Shoot ($8.50)

No.1 – Ostraka ($17)

The race shape looks ideal for both runners.

Expect them to settle off speed and be charging late at attractive odds.

 

Race 8

No.3 – General Salute ($6)

Went through last campaign without winning but rarely ran poorly.

Freshened up here and if he returns anywhere near his best, he can take this out.

No.1 – In Flight ($10)

Dually nominated and hard to ignore wherever he runs.

Gets the right map again and with clear running late, can produce another strong finish.

 

EAGLE FARM

Race 8 – Group 1 Queensland Oaks

No.1 – Panova ($3.50)

The Australasian Oaks winner looks beautifully placed.

She brings the right staying profile and looks one of the hardest runners to beat all day.

No.3 – Fireball Miss ($7)

Been with her all preparation and she rewarded supporters last start.

Her win in The Roses suggested the extra trip will suit and she looks capable of going on with it.

No.4 – Paltrow Miss ($15)

Has strong staying form around several key rivals and the bigger track should allow her to build into the race.

Looks the value play in the feature.

 

Race 9

No.9 – Barber ($15)

The first-up run had plenty more merit than the finishing position suggests after copping interference at a crucial stage.

With clear air this time, expect improvement.

No.10 – King Of Sparta ($6.50)

Typically improves second-up and profiles nicely with fitness under the belt.

Should be charging late.

No.6 – In Flight ($8)

Again dually nominated and looks dangerous wherever he lands.

Gets the right run and only needs luck at the right time.
