Daniel Pryor Saturday Horse Racing Tips 9/5/26

This week’s edition of Around The Grounds heads across four venues with tips and selections from Caulfield, Morphettville, Gold Coast and Gosford for the GTO faithful.

Last week’s Group 1 action centred around the SA Derby and it produced a massive upset result.

Unfortunately my selections missed the mark, with fourth the closest we could get in a tightly contested finish.

Phillip Stokes and powerhouse ownership group OTI Racing went back-to-back in the feature with New Zealand import Wigmore saluting at huge odds.

 

 

Teo Nugent produced a superb ride to claim his ninth Group 1 victory in what he described as a full-circle moment in his career.

The finish itself was a beauty, with Wigmore narrowly defeating a brave Strictly Business, while Autumn Mystery and Single Choice were right there in behind in a blanket finish.

This week the Group 1 racing remains in South Australia for the final major of the carnival, The Goodwood Handicap over 1200m.

While this year’s edition may not carry the same superstar depth as some previous years, the race still holds enormous prestige and has been won by some outstanding sprinters over the years.
