The unoffical Day 3 of The Championships sees another high-quality Group 1 contest with the All Aged Stakes over 1400m.
This is always a race where proven class meets timing in preparation, and this year is no different.
A mix of established stars and runners peaking into the right trip sets this up as a genuine weight-for-age battle.
With several key runners carrying excuses through recent runs and now getting conditions to suit, this looks a far more open race than early markets suggest.

Midfield: Angel Capital (8), Fangirl (11), Giga Kick (1)
Rear: Likely runners settling off speed looking to finish late
Race Shape: This sets up as a genuine 1400m contest where positioning will be key.
Expect a solid tempo which gives those midfield runners every chance to build into the race late.
Timing the run will be critical, particularly if the track plays evenly.
All Aged Stakes Facts You Must Consider
• Weight-for-age racing consistently rewards runners peaking at the right trip
• 1400m specialists often outperform pure sprinters stepping up
• Proven Group 1 performers with excuses last start are key angles in races like this
Selections & Analysis
1st – #8 Angel Capital
He looks the one ready to peak here.
Had excuses first-up, then was building strongly in the Group 1 Newmarket before luck ran out at a crucial stage. Followed that with another strong finish when not in the right ground last start.
Importantly, he has looked like a horse crying out for 1400m for some time now. This is his setup race and he gets his opportunity at Group 1 level.
With even luck, he can take this out.
2nd – #2 Jimmysstar
Plenty of excuses this preparation.
Angel Capital ran past him first-up, but he had issues again last start when slow away and forced wide, yet still hit the line well.
Key form reference is his win over Angel Capital at 1400m in the Orr Stakes last prep, where he proved clearly superior.
If he reproduces that level, he is right in this.
3rd – #11 Fangirl
Resumes here as a genuine star mare.
Her fresh record is outstanding and she gets conditions to suit on a dry track. She has the class edge on many of these and if she produces anywhere near her best first-up, she is a major threat.
Hard to leave out.
4th – #1 Giga Kick
Very good in the TJ, where a slight check may have cost him at a key stage.
He was strong through the line regardless and brings elite-level form into this. The key stat is that he has only been to 1400m once and won.
That makes him a serious player here.
5th – #14 Beiwatch
Good run in the Canterbury Stakes when finishing behind Joliestar, then faded last time over 1500m on a soft track.
Back to 1400m is ideal, and importantly, he holds the track record at this course and distance.
At odds, he is capable of bouncing back into the finish.
Race Summary
This shapes as a classic All Aged Stakes where multiple runners bring genuine winning claims.
Angel Capital looks the runner ready to peak at the right time stepping to 1400m, while Jimmysstar brings the key head-to-head form.
Fangirl adds class fresh, and Giga Kick is the proven Group 1 performer.
With tempo and positioning set to play a major role, this is a race where punters can look beyond the favourite and find real value across the field.
