Bet of the Day – Race 7 #7 Cosmic Crusader

Cosmic Crusader was simply a class above his rivals first-up and produced an excellent performance despite arguably never finding the best ground.

He now gets to 1400 metres second-up, which looks an even better setup, and his record at this stage of a preparation is outstanding.

He's also unbeaten on rain-affected ground, giving him another major tick with the track expected to remain Soft.

With the first-up run bringing him on and conditions firmly in his favour, Cosmic Crusader looks very hard to beat again.

Best Value Bet – Race 2 #2 Amleto

Amleto was forced to cover ground throughout over this track and distance last start yet was still too strong when it mattered.

He rises 3kg and returns to Benchmark 78 company, but his consistency makes him difficult to knock. He rarely produces a poor performance and already has the right course-and-distance form on the board.

At around $8, he looks over the odds in an open race.
