Flemington hosts another quality Saturday meeting with conditions expected to suit runners capable of finishing off strongly.
Ratings are based on a Soft track, with little rain forecast and light winds expected throughout the day.
The rail moves out to 10 metres after sitting at three metres at the previous meeting, where the circuit played fairly in races around the bend.
In the straight, the best ground was generally from the middle of the track out wider.

David Gately's Melbourne Best Bets – Flemington 1/8/26
Bet of the Day
Race 6 – #10 Touchdown
Touchdown made an outstanding return when charging home from the back of the field, finishing over the top of all bar the well-backed Kahhof.
The run suggested he has returned in terrific order, and the rise to 1620 metres looks ideal second-up.
With natural improvement to come and the promise of better races ahead than Benchmark 78 company, Gately expects him to prove very hard to beat.
Best Each-Way Bet
Race 7 – #2 Arkansaw Kid
Arkansaw Kid resumes with an excellent fresh profile and looks well placed to run a big race at attractive odds.
His recent trial was particularly encouraging despite covering ground, and his previous first-up performances include finishing within 0.8 lengths of quality sprinter Jigsaw on two occasions.
If he reproduces that level of form, he'll be right in the finish.
