David Gately Horse Racing Tips for Flemington 3/10/26

David Gately heads to Flemington on Saturday with two bets at attractive prices, with the weather set to play a major role in how the meeting unfolds.

All ratings are based on a Heavy track, with significant rain in the lead-up and further showers possible on race day.

The rail moves out to 9m after racing in the True position last meeting, when the track played particularly well.

Skybird is the best bet after a forgive run in the Group 1 Moir, while progressive Frankel filly Stipulation appeals each-way stepping to 1600m.

David Gately – Flemington Saturday Best Bets

Bet of the Day – Race 9 #15 Skybird

Skybird was ridden too positively first-up in the Group 1 Moir Stakes, and that performance is best forgiven.

Her second-up run last preparation is the key reference. She finished a very good third, beaten only a length by Joliestar in the Group 1 TJ Smith Stakes over 1200m.

That is outstanding form for this assignment.

Barrier five will require the right ride, but she has an in-form jockey aboard and gets the chance to reproduce her best second-up form.

Skybird is the one to beat.

Best Each-Way – Race 4 #11 Stipulation – $11

Stipulation looks like a progressive filly ready to take another step.

She debuted with a good performance behind Saintly Dancer and Platinum Pearl, a form line that has subsequently held up well.

She was then simply no match for Real Ambition, who has since strengthened that form by beating Pretty Baby, before Stipulation broke through with a strong maiden victory.

The daughter of Frankel now steps to 1600m, which looks a natural progression at this stage of her preparation.

She's on the way up and, at around $11, Stipulation represents good each-way value.
