BET OF THE DAY

Race 9 No.1 – OBSERVER

Was wide but good fresh against older horses, then jumped 1300m to 1600m in the Group 1 Guineas and had no luck at a vital stage.

May well have gone close to testing star colt Autumn Boy with clear running.

That’s clearly the A-form and with a cleaner passage here, he’s the one to beat.

BEST VALUE BET OF THE DAY

Race 7 No.7 – VON HAWKE

Loved the way he hit the line second-up in the Sandown Stakes when rising sharply from 1100m to 1500m, then charged late again at Flemington back to 1400m.

Was a luckless 1.2L fourth in this race last year and looks to be going even better this time around.
