She travelled into the race at Cranbourne but simply couldn’t quicken around the tight home bend, only balancing up late before charging to the line, so much so that the first three gapped the rest by a wide margin.

She looks fitter again, drops into this well at the weights, and the bigger Pakenham circuit is exactly what she needs.

Expect her to be building into the race from the 600m and launching late.

Gaitely’s Verdict: Ideal set-up, proven strength late, and significant track upgrade. The one to beat.

 

Best Value Bet of the Day – Race 6 No.4 Electric Impulse

Electric Impulse has had absolutely no luck this preparation.

She was in the wrong spot fresh, then went five weeks into Ballarat only to be completely unsuited by a brutal on-pace dominated race shape.

Despite that, she still found the line in encouraging fashion.

Now she backs up, lands third-up, steps to 1600m and should be able to position closer in the run.

At around $15, she shapes as clear overs given her genuine improvement profile.

Gately’s Verdict: Forgive both runs this prep. Bigger track, rising fitness and race shape all suit. Overs.
