Race 6 – No.5 CASSIEL $3.00

Arrives here third-up at peak fitness and is well in after the 2kg claim for Ana Roper.

Her ratings have continued to improve third-up and beyond throughout her preparations, and there’s no reason to suggest that trend won’t continue here.

From barrier one over 1250m, she looks set to enjoy an economical run on speed and control the race.

The slight query is the 1250m for the first time, but with the claim and a soft run in transit, she gets every possible chance to see it out strongly.

Race 7 – No.5 BARBER $7.00

Had the race shape well and truly against him when third-up over the 1200m, yet still fought on strongly to be beaten just 1.5 lengths by Weeping Woman.

Drawn barrier one and now fourth-up into his preparation, he should be able to hold a spot just behind the leaders and get a much more favourable run in transit.

With even luck on the turn, he looks well placed to prove too strong for his rivals and rates as the best value on the card.
