Free Horse Racing Tips & Best Bets for Flemington 3/10/26

Michael Manley has two strong plays at Flemington on Saturday, headed by Sir Delius as he attempts to become the first horse since Winx to win consecutive Turnbull Stakes.

Sir Delius gets a race shape that should allow him to settle prominently and control proceedings, while Ten Commandments brings outstanding consistency into the last after a dominant victory at Ballarat. Both are proven at Flemington and will be suited if the expected rain arrives.

Michael Manley – Flemington Saturday Best Bets 3/10/26

Best Bet – Race 8 #2 Sir Delius

Sir Delius is a top-class galloper who looks ideally placed to defend his Turnbull Stakes crown.

He won this race last year after working forward before proving too strong for Antino, Via Sistina and Half Yours.

A similar tactical advantage could present itself on Saturday. Craig Williams can push forward, control his position and potentially establish a break before the backmarkers get into the race.

His first-up fourth in the Makybe Diva Stakes was a sound return and the step to 2000m is a major positive. He's had four starts over the distance for three wins and a third.

He also loves rain-affected ground.

Everything sets up for another big performance from Sir Delius.

Next Best – Race 10 #11 Ten Commandments

Ten Commandments simply doesn't know how to run a bad race.

The seven-year-old stepped to 1600m in the Gold Nugget Stakes at Ballarat last start and, despite enduring a tough run, still put his rivals away comfortably.

He now drops 2.5kg to 54.5kg and should get another favourable setup.

There looks to be plenty of speed in the race, but Ten Commandments has enough tactical versatility to take up a position among the leading group rather than getting caught too far back.

He won easily over the Flemington track and distance five starts ago and is also proven on wet ground.

With conditions in his favour, Ten Commandments looks capable of continuing his outstanding run of form.
