Horse Racing Tips for Gosford 9/5/26

We head to the Gosford feature meeting with a couple of runners that I think are well placed to improve sharply in suitable setups.

With the rail back in the true position and the track expected to play fairly, I’m focusing on horses that map well, bring hidden merit through recent runs and still look to have upside.

Race 1 – #7 I Am Dirty

I’m happy to take on the favourite here at the current price.

He comes through a slowly run debut race and while there is improvement to come second-up for the Waller stable, I think the market has priced him more on potential than what he has actually produced so far.

I Am Dirty had no favours first-up, caught wide without cover throughout, and I thought the run was much better than it reads on paper.

She should take natural improvement from that effort and I think the smaller field setup suits her nicely.

The wide draw is the obvious challenge, but there looks enough speed underneath her to help offset that and allow her to slot in without doing too much work.

If the Gosford track plays fairly, I think she gets every chance to run a big race.

Race 8 – #10 Sarrismo

I thought Sarrismo was outstanding at Orange last start and he comes here off a clear career peak.

He’s now won five of nine starts and placed in another four, which tells you he very rarely runs a poor race.

What I like most here is the setup.

There doesn’t look to be a huge amount of pressure engaged and from the inside draw he should land exactly where he wants to in the run.

I still think there’s upside with him as well, which makes the current price around the $4.80 mark look over the odds to me in a race that sets up very favourably.
