Mick Gannon heads to Randwick with two runners he believes are perfectly placed to capitalise on favourable race maps and improving fitness profiles.
Both selections arrive at key stages of their preparations, with one looking ready to peak third-up over a more suitable trip, while the other gets significant weight relief and maps ideally in a race where tactical positioning could prove crucial.

Mick Gannon – Randwick Saturday Best Bets 20/6/26
Race 5 – #5 Nasebah
Nasebah has continued to improve with every run this preparation and looks ready to produce a career-best performance.
The imported mare made an immediate impression at her Australian debut, winning comfortably over 1800m before dropping back to a mile where she again performed well in stronger company.
Last start she was building into the race nicely before running into traffic near the 100m mark, costing her the opportunity to finish even closer.
The return to 1800m looks ideal and the booking of Tommy Berry only adds confidence.
From barrier four she should enjoy a perfect run just behind what appears a genuine tempo, allowing her to settle, conserve energy and present at the right time.
Third-up and back to her preferred trip, she looks primed to run a peak race.
Race 8 – #16 Amazing Eagle
Amazing Eagle appeals as one of the better value runners on the card.
His first-up effort for the Bjorn Baker stable was excellent, producing a figure that was close to a career-best despite not having everything go his way.
He again had excuses second-up over 1000m, a distance that is short of his best, but now gets back to 1200m where his strongest performances have been produced.
The rise in grade is offset by a significant drop in weight, with the gelding carrying 9kg less than he did at his previous start.
Importantly, he maps to secure a prominent position, either leading or settling just behind the speed, which should allow Alysha Collett every opportunity to control the race from a tactical perspective.
A proven performer at the distance, a favourable map and lightweight profile make him a very attractive proposition in off-season racing.
At the current price, Gannon believes he represents genuine value.
