Warwick Farm hosts the midweek meeting with the rail positioned 2 metres and the surface rated a Good 4, conditions that should allow runners to settle into a rhythm and build through their races.
With no dual track in operation, race shape and positioning will be key, particularly in smaller fields where tempo can play a decisive role.
Mick Gannon has identified two runners who were both unlucky last start, each racing against the day's pattern.
With improved setups here, both look well placed to bounce back and be very competitive.

Race 3 – #4 Almaaz
Was a good thing beaten last start; unlucky not to get the result after a protest following a luckless run.
Her effort against the day's pattern was exceptional, and she looks to get a much better setup here.
In a small field from barrier 3 over 1625m, she should land closer in the run and get every opportunity to go one better.
Race 7 – #1 Emirate
Raced against the day's pattern when running into the Rosehill “brick wall”, making his effort better than it reads.
He trialled like a jet following the gelding operation, and there is a strong expectation he can return to a career peak this preparation.
James McDonald sticks, and despite the wide draw, he should settle off speed before finishing strongly late.
Back in grade, he gets his chance.
