Lay Betting Tips: Who to avoid on the punt 25/4/26

This week we focus on two runners at Morphettville that mug punters are likely to charge into, both appearing severely overbet with significant challenges to overcome.

The Lloyd Kennewell stable can be inconsistent, and this setup does not look well-suited for this runner’s profile.

He was well supported last start at Sandown yet failed to make an impact, finishing midfield.

The market appears to be anchoring to that previous short quote, which may be misleading.

Given the likely race shape, he may be forced into an inferior position and struggle to make ground when it matters.

Expect professional money to oppose him late, with a drift beyond $3 a strong possibility.

Morphettville Race 3 #2 McWoody $2.40

Punters will naturally gravitate towards his winning streak, however this profile is often overbet and kept artificially short by bookmakers.

He was impressive last start despite covering extra ground, which further adds to the hype surrounding him and compresses the price.

However, his record suggests he struggles when rising to a stronger grade, and this step up in class looks a significant test.

Barrier one is also a concern. Without strong early speed, he risks being positioned too far back and becoming trapped along the inside.

From that position, he will require everything to go right to be competitive.

At the current odds, he represents poor value and shapes as a high risk.
