Lay Betting Tips: Who to avoid on the punt 27/6/26

Rosehill Poison Prices

This week we focus on two popular Rosehill runners who both appear significantly under the odds and present excellent opportunities to oppose.
In Race 5, a mare with an eye catching finishing burst faces a nightmare setup from the inside barrier, where traffic issues and an inexperienced rider could prove costly.
Later on the card, a last start placegetter has attracted significant support from recreational punters following scratchings and wet weather.
However he rises in distance to a trip he has never won at and looks poorly suited by the expected race shape.
Avoid both at the poison prices currently avaliable.
Saturday Lays of the Day 27/6/26
Rosehill Race 5 #1 Surf's Up $3.40
She has put together an impressive preparation, charging home from the back in recent starts, however this looks a completely different assignment.
Barrier one could prove disastrous given her racing pattern. She is almost certain to settle back in the field and risks becoming buried along the rail with nowhere to build momentum.
Apprentice Siena Grima is a talented young rider, however this is the type of race where the experience of a senior jockey would have been a major advantage.
If a split appears, she will need to commit quickly and take a narrow run. That is a significant ask under race pressure.
Surf's Up wet track record also leaves plenty to be desired, and the likely conditions add another layer of uncertainty.
I expect a market drift as the professional money enters late.
Rosehill Race 8 #4 God's Window $2.50
A combination of scratchings and the forecast wet conditions has seen his price collapse, with recreational money piling into him throughout the week.
His recent form reads well with a win and a second placing, however both performances came with ideal runs in transit.
Last start he arguably had every opportunity over 1600 metres yet struggled to run down the leader when the race was there to be won. That effort suggested he lacked the sharp turn of foot expected at the finish.
He has since returned to the trials and now rises to 2000 metres, a distance at which he is yet to record a victory.
Rosehill has also not been his happiest hunting ground and barrier seven is unlikely to provide any favours in what shapes as a slowly run race.
From a position worse than midfield, he could again find himself chasing without the tempo required to bring his finishing sprint into play.
At the current quote he represents poor value and I expect a bigger price to be available by jump time.
