Mick Gannon – Randwick Saturday Best Bets 3/10/26

Race 1 – #1 Columbus

Columbus was dominant at his first attempt over 1800m and looks well placed to make it back-to-back wins.

He rises 1kg but now lines up in restricted Midway company and retains the services of James McDonald.

The map is another major positive. From the good draw he should settle inside the first four and get every opportunity to conserve energy before being produced in the straight.

From there, he should prove too good for his rivals.

Race 5 – #16 Unleeshing

Unleeshing has been luckless at her past two starts and is absolutely screaming out for the step to 1600m.

The good draw should allow her to settle closer than she has recently, while the rise to the mile gives her the chance to build into the race without conceding too much ground.

With clear running when it matters, she should prove far too good for her rivals.

The good thing of the day!
