Racing heads to Rosehill on Saturday, with The Great Tip Off's Mick Gannon identifying two runners who look well placed to produce strong performances.
Both selections come through recent runs where circumstances worked against them, and Mick believes there's good reason to expect improvement this weekend.
In Race 4, Donatello steps up in distance after finishing strongly over an unsuitable 1500m last start. The additional ground looks ideal, and he appears ready to produce a career-best performance.
Later in the program, Welcometotheshow contests the Group 3 Five Diamonds over 1800m after an unlucky run last start. He finished powerfully once clear and looks an appealing each-way opportunity.
Here are Mick Gannon's two best bets for Rosehill on Saturday.
Mick Gannon’s Rosehill Best Bets 7/11/26
Rosehill Race 4 – #6 Donatello $2.90
Donatello finally gets the distance he's been looking for, and I'm expecting a big performance on Saturday.
The 1500m last week was simply too short for him, and things didn't go entirely to plan when he settled further back in the field than intended.
Despite that, he was charging home late and looked capable of finishing even closer if the winning post hadn't arrived when it did.
That performance suggested he's ready to peak, and the rise in distance should allow him to settle into a better rhythm and sustain his finishing effort.
Everything points towards him producing one of the strongest performances of his career.
Mick's Verdict: Finally gets the trip he wants after charging home over an unsuitable 1500m last week. Set to produce a career peak.

Rosehill Race 8 – #11 Welcometotheshow $10.00
Welcometotheshow is my other selection on Saturday, and he looks a very good each-way betting opportunity in the Group 3 Five Diamonds.
He had absolutely no luck last start, getting stuck on the inside with nowhere to go when the race was developing around him.
By the time he finally found clear running, the leaders had already established their advantage.
However, once he got into the clear, he powered home to finish third.
It was an excellent effort under the circumstances and one that suggests he's capable of turning in an even better performance with an uninterrupted run.
He's also slightly better off at the weights this time, which is another positive.
While the Five Diamonds is run over 1800m, his form at the mile suggests the extra distance won't trouble him.
If he gets clear running at the right time, I expect him to be right in the finish.
Mick's Verdict: Unlucky last start before powering home into third. Better off at the weights, suited at 1800m and a good each-way bet.
