Race 6 – Verona Rose & Firestorm

Verona Rose was exceptional, producing a performance full of upside.

She’s a noted first-up performer and showed exactly why, hitting the line strongly and shaping as a mare ready to build through her preparation.

Expect her to be highly competitive second-up and capable of running a career peak third-up.

Firestorm also deserves significant credit, racing back towards the inferior ground nearer the rail.

Despite the disadvantage, she still performed admirably.

Under better conditions and with a more favourable pattern, she’s more than capable of turning the tables.

Race 10 – Mal Coupe & Charcols

Mal Coupe was dominant in the last and continues to rise through the grades.

He looks a horse we can confidently follow when there’s sting out of the ground, where his performance level clearly lifts.

There’s more to come this prep.

From the same race, Charcols was flying home despite racing towards the inferior going.

He produced a career peak rating with plenty going against him.

With natural improvement and a kinder set-up, he looks capable of stringing together a couple of wins if placed correctly.
