Well, Happy 2026 to all the punters out there.

Since the Spring Carnival I’ve been relatively quiet, but with the New Year now here, it’s time to start finding some summertime winners, while also keeping one eye firmly on the lead-up to the Autumn Carnival.

Gold Coast Magic Millions time is upon us as well, and we’re about to see some serious dollars being splashed in the pursuit of finding the one, the horse that can take a stable and ownership group on that whirlwind ride.

I can’t wait to see all the theatrics when the hammer comes down during those intense bidding wars.

With all of that happening, I’ve landed on a few value plays for this coming Saturday at Flemington.

Daniel Pryor’s Flemington Tips 10/1/26

Flemington – Saturday

Race 3 – No.6 Conscience ($8.50)

Only the third start for this filly, who won impressively on debut before running fourth at her first run back.

The stable elected to rule her out of the Spring Carnival after that effort, and she now returns off a nice trial heading into this.

She’ll get back in the run, but expect her to be savaging the line late.

At the price, I’m happy to find out.

Race 9 – Dual Win Play

(One of the hardest races on the card)

No.2 Laa De Shaa ($11)

Wide gate, but that may be exactly where you want to be drawn in this Straight Six.

Jackson Radley is engaged and she looked like she has more improvement to come after winning stylishly first-up this campaign.

No.10 Behaviour ($7)

A definite get-on-next-start type last run.

I think the Flemington straight will really suit her, and Jamie Melham sticks in the saddle.

Behaviour’s dam Spright won a Group 3 down the straight here, and while this is only a BM74, I’m confident she can emulate her dam and get the job done.

There we go punters, some value to kick off 2026 this Saturday at Headquarters.

Good luck and giddy up.
