Racing heads back to the Parks circuit on Saturday with the track rated a Good 4 and the rail shifting out to the 6-metre position.

It’s a configuration that typically rewards horses who can settle handy while still giving strong finishers their chance when the tempo is genuine.

With Finals Day now behind us, this shapes as a solid betting program.

Early markets weren’t available at the time of writing, so as always, it’s important to monitor late moves closely, they’ll tell you plenty.

Heath Pope has zeroed in on two runners well placed to strike.

Best Bets for Morphettville from Heath Pope 29/11/25

Race 3 – No.1 Celsius Star

Celsius Star has been ultra-consistent since joining the new stable, and outside of one complete forgive run two starts ago, his recent form stacks up far better than it first appears.

He’s been competing against much stronger Melbourne opposition and now finds a race significantly easier than what he’s been tackling.

The claim gets him in beautifully at the weights and the draw gives him every opportunity to use his natural speed and settle right on top of the pace.

Back to 1250m is ideal at this stage of his prep and he should get conditions to suit.

Everything points to him being the one they have to beat.

Rated price: $2.75

Next best: (6) Zebella rated $4.50

Race 5 – No.2 The Great Baby

The Great Baby is as honest as they come and rarely produces a flat run. His first-up record is excellent (5:0-3-1), and his quiet trials indicate he has returned in good shape without being tested.

With solid speed engaged, he maps to land in the perfect trailing position before peeling off their backs late.

Dropping back to BM74 grade and getting the 3kg claim only strengthens his case and he looks set to give another trademark first-up each-way performance.

Rated price: $4.00

Main dangers:

(7) Thunder Shoc rated $4.50

(5) Beauty Bound rated $5.50
