Race 6 – No.2 Kinetic Jewel $4.60

A talented mare when right, Kinetic Jewel had genuine excuses first-up when trapped wide throughout from a poor draw.

She never fires fresh, so the defeat was no surprise, but she strips far fitter now and historically elevates sharply second-up (4:1-1-1).

Drawn to stalk a strong tempo without burning fuel, she gets every chance to build momentum at the right time.

Look for her to pinch a break straightening and make Out Of Square do the chasing late.

Anything $4 or better is a bet.

Race 7 – No.9 Sir Leapalot $17.00

Yes, he’s only won one race, but Sir Leapalot has been one of South Australia’s most consistently unlucky gallopers, with 10 placings signalling far more ability than his record suggests.

His first-up run was enormous considering the ground he covered and he typically improves sharply second-up.

This race is loaded with early pressure, which plays right into his hands.

If he can settle midfield with cover and peel into clear air late, he’ll be surging home over the top.

Looks a terrific 1x3 each-way opportunity.
